At the Intermediate level, student lessons are offered via one-on-one instruction. At this level, students begin to explore different musical styles corresponding to the standard musical periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century) with masterworks written by celebrated composers. This level enhances dexterity and secures foundational techniques at the keyboard.
Dr. Michael Schneider places high importance in teaching students to problem solve at a young age. He encourages them to be their own musical detective. He has developed this approach into a lecture for other teachers entitled, “The Art of Practicing” and has given this lecture at numerous state music conventions throughout the past decade. Dr. Michael Schneider believes that if a student understands how to tackle technical challenges in the earliest pieces, it sets them up for future success!
