This program offering is geared for the student who intends to major in Music in college (focus in Performance, Education, Composition, Theory, or Other) with piano as their primary instrument. It is recommended to begin this program in a student’s junior year of high school. This program will continue advanced level piano studies in addition to mentoring and guiding students in selecting appropriate summer camps, assisting with videos or audio recordings necessary for camp and collegiate auditions, connecting students with professors at major universities within the United States, and more.
This program will begin with the instructor assisting the student and family in developing a two-year roadmap on what activities will be necessary in order to gain admission to the student’s desired collegiate program and ensuring success during the first year of collegiate study. This will be highly customized to the student and all facets of the student’s musical education will be considered, including aptitude at the piano, theory/aural skills, composition skills, ensemble experience, music history knowledge, current events/key performers, and more. In each key area, the instructor will devise a plan of action that will align expectations of the student and their family.
